Two Mountains One Pass

Now you can ski and snowboard at both iconic Southern Lakes ski areas on a dual-mountain pass! This page has a brief overview and links to more information about both ski areas so you can see what makes each mountain special – it'll help you decide whether you're better suited to one, the other, or if you'll visit both resorts this winter.

Cardrona:

Founded in 1980, Cardrona welcomes skiers and snowboarders of all ages and ability levels - from first-timers and families, to Olympic and X Games athletes. Cardrona is renowned for wide, open slopes that are home to some of New Zealand’s best learner facilities, and the Southern Hemisphere’s most extensive terrain parks and halfpipes. Cardrona's Terrain Parks are the home of the NZ Park and Pipe Team.

Cardrona is one of New Zealand's favourite family mountains, looking after kids from three months old through to their 18th birthday. It's a great place to learn to ski or snowboard, with amazing beginner facilities (including a covered learner conveyor) and progressive terrain that makes taking each step in your skiing or snowboarding super easy. Did we mention our amazing instructors yet? They're some of the best in the world and will help build your confidence with every turn.

Each year, Cardrona hosts some of the biggest winter events, including Winter Games NZ, FIS World Cup freestyle competitions, Queenstown Winter Festival and the Jossi Wells Invitational.

In the summer months, Cardrona is home to New Zealand’s highest bike park, and the country’s only Mountain Carting experience, which Stuff.co.nz described as the “most fun thing to do in New Zealand”.

Treble Cone:

Treble Cone is the home of skiing in Wanaka, founded back in 1968 by local ski enthusiasts.

Famed for its challenging steeps, natural halfpipes, and legendary off-piste terrain, Treble Cone sits firmly on the bucket lists of most intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Treble Cone has one of the world’s best skiing backdrops, with breathtaking views of Lake Wanaka and the Matukituki Basin.

TC is the home of the New Zealand Freeride Team, and is the training ground for Freeride World Tour athletes.

Skiing and snowboarding at TC is for those who take fun seriously. It's a challenge, but getting your heart racing with that view in front of you makes it all worth it.
