Convenient On-mountain Childcare

Cardrona Ski Kindy offers the perfect spot for your little ones to be well cared for while developing their snow skills. As you enjoy the slopes, you can relax knowing they’re safe, either snug in the centre or having fun learning on the snow! Your little ones, aged 3 months to 4 years, will be cared for in our fully licensed childcare centre. Drop them off for a fun-filled day, both inside the centre and out on the snow!

Age groups and what to bring

General Information

  • Your kids are well taken care of and kept toasty in our on-mountain nursery.

  • Fully qualified and friendly teachers.

  • Morning and afternoon tea supplied.

  • Bring your own lunch (please note: we are a nut-free centre), nappies and wipes, sleep comforters/ sleeping bags, change of clothing.

  • A fun and educational experience in our fully licensed Ski Kindy that has a focus on snow.

  • Add on a ski lesson package to make this the best holiday ever!

  • All food is provided.

  • Bring your own change of inside clothing, outside clothing, snow boots, nappies and wipes, and any comforters.

Please see our pricing for full day care. Half-day care is available for walk-up bookings only and will be based on availability on the day. Private Lessons are available for 2yrs+ and Group Lessons for 3.5yrs+ only.

Important Information

  • How to book:

  • What to bring:

    • Pack spare bottles, nappies/pull-ups, a change of clothes, and a favourite toy or blanket with your child.

    • We use reusable wipes on all children in the centre, if you would prefer to bring your own then please do so.

  • Dietaries:

    • The centre is completely nut free and we are able to cater for most other allergies. Please let us know at time of booking. You are welcome to bring your own food if you would like. Food is provided for Ski Kindy (2 - 4years). Morning and afternoon tea is provided for nursery (3 months - 2years), but please pack their lunch.

  • Immunisation and ID:

    • Provide a copy of your child’s immunisation certificate upon arrival. Unimmunised children are welcome but please inform us when registering.

    • We will check ID at time of enrolment. Please bring this with you or have a photo ready to show.

We work to Ministry of Education ratios which are 1:10 for Over 2's and 1:5 for Under 2's. However, we aim to have 1:6 for Over 2's and 1:3 for Under 2's.

Group lessons for under 5s are best suited for mature 4-year-olds who are ready to learn with others.

Equipment is included for the duration of the lesson. Pick up directly from us in Ski Kindy.

Your child's group lesson will include snacks for the duration of the lesson, ski rentals fitted by an instructor, ski games, an inclusive team environment and snow play.

Lessons depend on weather and energy levels, if the mountain is open and the kids are keen the lessons will run!

Yes! Our aim is to offer all children outside play if the weather and conditions allow.

Groups have a maximum of four kids of the same age and level.
