Who are Group Lessons for?

Designed for progress, these lessons are ideal if you:

  • Want to feel more confident on steeper or varied terrain

  • Are ready to move beyond the basics

  • Prefer clear guidance instead of figuring it out yourself

  • Enjoy learning in a social, supportive setting

By the end of the day, you’ll have:

  • Smoother, more controlled turns

  • Better balance and edge control

  • Clear direction on what to focus on next

  • Confidence to explore more runs

You’ll leave with skills you can build on, not just a good day out.

"Well-planned and managed'

We loved the resort. Friendly staff and very organised setup for rentals and returns. The lessons were well-planned and managed. We had a great family experience. Thank you.

Frequently
Asked Questions

First-Timers are people who have never been on skis or a snowboard before and will be mastering the basics on the Learner Conveyor Tunnel and Beginners' Area close to our Base. Learn more about our First Timer Packages here.

Beginners are those who have the ability to stop on skis or a snowboard, and will be working on side-slipping and turning on the Beginner area while gaining confidence and skills to work towards green runs.

Novices are people who want to learn to turn more confidently and will be riding the McDougall's Chondola to access Cardrona’s wide, open green trails while gaining confidence and skills to work towards blue runs.

Intermediates are people who can get around the mountain on green and blue runs, who are working on parallel turns on skis or edge control on their snowboard and are looking for an introduction to different snow conditions and terrain choices.

Advanced skiers are taking their skiing and riding to the next level by refining their skills all over the mountain, trying something new with confidence, exploring the mountain both on and off-piste and maybe looking for an introduction to Cardrona’s world-famous park facilities.

Lessons start at 10.30am, so please check in at the lesson flag 10 minutes prior to the start time. Lessons run for the full day: 2.5 hours in the morning, followed by a 45 minute lunch break at 1pm, then another 2 hours in the afternoon, finishing at 3.45pm.

Group lesson numbers can fluctuate. Children under 5 have a strict maximum of four per group. For children under 8, we aim for six per group. For kids over 8 and adult lessons, we aim for a maximum of 8 per lesson. These numbers are a guideline only and not guaranteed.

Aim to arrive at the lesson meeting area around 10 minutes before your lesson. You will need plenty of time to be fitted with your equipment before this. Aim to arrive on the mountain by at least 9am to allow yourselves time to get fitted, store your gear and maybe even grab a coffee!

Group lessons stop for a lunch break every day at 1pm for 45mins.

Kids can learn to ski in a group lesson from 3.5yrs and snowboard from 7rs. Children younger than this can take private lessons. Kids over 5 are grouped by age and ability and reassessed within the first 30 mins to make sure they're in the right group. If you have a child under 5, check out our under 5s lessons and Childcare Centre.

Kids’ group lessons run separately from adult lessons, as children learn very differently to adults. Parents can drop their children off at our dedicated on-snow drop-off zone, where they’ll be looked after by our Snow Sports School team, and pick them up again at the end of the lesson.

Children aged 14 and over pay child price but can join adult lessons.

Tackle Treble Cone’s incredible terrain either on your skis or snowboard:

  • Develop your skills and tactics for off-piste conditions (ski)

  • Improve your ability to skilfully navigate natural terrain features (snowboard)

  • 3 hours of individualised coaching in a small, focused group

Yes, if your child is under 5 years old, their pass is completely free! But all guests still require a pass to access the lifts -book online and visit one of our ticket offices to collect your pass.
