More Spring Snow!

Read our roundup of everything happening up Cardrona and Treble Cone in our weekly digest. From forecasted weather to big events, food and beverage specials, terrain park builds and more.

It’s been a stormy night, resulting in 40cm of settled snow on the slopes this morning. So what does that mean for you? Think spring school holidays, think heaps of soft stuff to play in, and think epic family fun. We can’t wait to welcome all the families up here with all the soft stuff!

Take care on the roads, always carry chains, and if you don’t fancy the drive up the mountain road, catch a free shuttle from the bottom or book a spot on the bus from Queenstown or Wānaka.

If you plan to soak up the season for the school holidays, check out our special Spring Flexi 5-Day Pass. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to ski or ride any 5 days at Cardrona OR Treble Cone until the end of the season. It’s a better price than a regular multi-day pass, and you don’t have to use the 5 days in one go! Check it out here.

Weather:

The temps are set to sit between 1-3 degrees throughout the weekend, with some cloud coverage in the afternoons. Friday could bring some light snow through the day, while Saturday and Sunday should remain dry.

Check the snow report before you head up here on any given day for the latest conditions!

Events:

Fri, Oct 4 – Cardrona NZ Freestyle Nationals – The final event of the NZ calendar for snow sports athletes to claim freestyle titles!

Sat, Oct 12 – Minipipe World Champs – A free community event for all ages of snowboarders held in the minipipe.

Sun, Oct 13 - MTB on Snow – is coming back! Rescheduled from the start of the season, this one does what it says on the tin, with a chaotic but super fun race on snow. Don’t miss out! There’s a summer season pass up for grabs too.

Terrain Parks:

Expect more jib features set in lower McDougals for the Jr Nationals!

All parks including the Big Air, superpipe and minipipe are still in great shape and should be riding well until the end of the season thanks to all the fresh stuff.
