What’s on: Treble Cone Closing Weekend

This Sunday, we're sending Treble Cone off in style. Closing Day is a proper TC tradition and a seriously good time, and everyone's welcome. Come for big grins and a last lap (or five) of the season. 

Spring's well and truly here, and in true spring fashion we've had the full spectrum in just seven days. Whatever the weather's doing, the vibes are high and we're going strong. 

Both mountains are fully open, so pack the legs, rally your mates and make the most of the biggest playground around. Over at Cardrona, She'll Be Right is on this Friday with The Uninvited Boarding Pass presented by Burton going down on Saturday, so swing by and cheer on the crew. The base is epic, and with Cardrona's season extended to 18 October, there's still plenty of time to get amongst it.

Weather

• Friday, Sept 25: Light snow early, clearing to some cloud through the afternoon, with light winds around 8km/h. High -2°C.

• Saturday, Sept 26: Light snow to start, cloudy through the day, then moderate snow overnight, with winds building to 24km/h. High 3°C.

• Sunday, Sept 27: Snow showers through the day, clearing by evening, with winds up to 29km/h. High -6°C. 

Friday's calm and still, with a light dusting to kick off the weekend. Saturday is the mildest of the three, but moderate snow moves in overnight, with around 8cm forecast. Sunday tops it up with more snow showers and turns properly cold, so pack your layers if you're heading up.

Keep the Snow Report bookmarked and refreshed all weekend, as conditions are moving fast. 

World Ski Awards 

Last year, thanks to all of you, Cardrona was named New Zealand's Best Ski Resort at the World Ski Awards, and we're still a little bit chuffed about it. We're up for it again in 2026, and if Cardies has been part of your winter this season, we'd be so grateful for your vote.

The Alpine National Points Race enables Snow Sports New Zealand to select national Teams to compete in the Northern Hemisphere. Find out more

Kiri the Kea’s Family Fun Day 

Join us at Treble Cone on Saturday 26 September for a fun-filled celebration for the whole whānau and to celebrate Kiri’s Birthday! Dress up and enjoy an action-packed day featuring a scavenger hunt, face painting, games in the Plaza, DJ disco beats and a BBQ. Find out more

TC Closing Day 

Can you believe it is TC closing day already? Join us in the celebrations with music, fancy dress and good vibes.

Food and Beverage Highlights 

• The View at TC: The best views, the best food and that feeling you only get at 1600m, plus your last chance to soak it all up until 2027.  

• Little Megs: It is the last weekend of Little Megs at Cardrona! Last chance for Valley View pre lap coffee and post lap beers.  

• Captain’s Pizzeria: It is spring beers on the deck season! Ski-in / ski-out eatery with some of the best views on the mountain, a fully stocked bar and Cardrona-famous pizza. 

• Base Café: Daily ‘mountain meals’ with plenty of savoury and sweet cabinet treats that keep energy levels up, Base Café is a great pit stop to fill up when you’re on the go.  

• The Mezz: Quality restaurant eats if you're after a slower start. Hot tip: with school holidays kicking off, book ahead! 

Terrain Parks 

All parks are open, with the team working on adding and swapping new features. Both of our halfpipes are open! The 22ft Super Pipe and the International Halfpipe, otherwise known as the People's Pipe.
