Creating team culture and camaraderie

A skier in mid-action during a slalom race, carving a sharp turn around a red gate on a well-groomed piste. The skier is dressed in a black racing suit with a helmet and goggles. The background features a series of red gates extending up a snowy slope, emphasising the challenge of the course. The pristine condition of the snow and the clear blue skies create a vivid and exhilarating winter sports scene.

Wānaka Ski Team

With an emphasis on the fundamentals, WST strives to create an environment that is fun, supportive, and conductive to learning. The goal of the programme is to develop resilient athletes who are achieving their ski racing potential. The Wānaka Ski Team has full and part-time programmes for junior skiers at the beginning of their race journey all the way through to FIS level athletes.

Another skier, dressed in a colourful jacket and dark pants, watches from the slope below. The backdrop includes a snow park, with visible ski lifts and other skiers in the distance, adding to the energy of the scene.

Parks Squad Programme

The Cardrona Parks Squad calls the Southern Hemisphere’s most extensive terrain parks and pipes their home. Cardrona is home to four progressive terrain parks for all levels of freestylers, two halfpipes, a big air jump and a gravity-x course. The Cardrona Parks Squad coaches are among the best in the industry, guiding athletes on their competition journey by helping them master new tricks and perfect their style.

TC Freeride Programme

The TC Freeride Team trains on some of New Zealand’s best freeride terrain at Treble Cone. TC’s natural bowls, halfpipes, chutes, cliffs, steeps and side hits make it the ideal training ground for young freeride athletes. The team will help athletes progress their skiing and mentor them through local and national freeride competitions.
